Winston Churchill Travel Fellowship

I was both delighted and honoured to have been awarded a travel fellowship for 2017 by the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust.  The Trust awards a number of fellowships every year that pay the travel costs for individuals to explore how things are done elsewhere in the world, bring back and disseminate good practice and innovation in the UK.

My application was in the Medical Practice and Education category and I visited the USA and Argentina to look at Patient Education in relation to degenerative neurological conditions.  I met all types of stakeholders researchers, experts in neurology, medical practitioners working in the field in different types of health provision, medical insurance providers, arts in health projects and not least patients themselves.

The whole experience taught me a lot.

The final report is available here.
